However, although refining the oil can eliminate all aflatoxins, no data was found on the elimination of other types of mytoxins through refining.
&lt;br /&gt;For this reason, and also to check the bibliographical results, we decided to assess the situation by analysing the toxins that could present a risk: ochrtoxin A, aflatoxin B1 and zearalenone.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Specific analysis methods for virgin and refined olive oil&lt;/strong&gt; were developed and approved by Iterg and are now available to manufacturers for:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;ul class=&quot;spip&quot;&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Aflatoxins B1, B2, G1 and G2&lt;/strong&gt; with an individual quantification limit of 0.025 ppb&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ochratoxin A&lt;/strong&gt; with a quantification limit of 0.5 ppb&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;
